Uganda left with only 17 active COVID-19 cases

Kampala, Uganda (RTN)-According to the current status, Uganda is seemingly winning the battle against COVID-19 which has since killed  millions of people across the world with USA being the most affected country recording over 41,586 deaths and  781,561 confirmed cases by press time.

According to the current standings , Uganda has recorded only 55 COVID-19 cases and so far 38 patients  have been discharged after successful  recovery, leaving the country with only 17 active COVID-19 cases.

Last week about 15 patients  were  discharged from Mulago National Referral Hospital in the capital Kampala, Entebbe Grade B, and from Hoima Regional Referral Hospital in the western part of the country.

Uganda on Sunday April 19 discharged six more patients including a baby who have recovered from COVID-19 after treatment and today Monday April 20 more 9 patients were also discharged.

Uganda closed  its borders and Airspace on 30th March 2020 and also went into total lock-down after it recorded 33 COVID-19 cases.

In the first place, Uganda declared a two-week nationwide lockdown but it has since extended it to 5 weeks.

If the situation continues like this , Uganda will remain with no active COVID-19 cases in the next coming weeks.
