Kampala, Uganda (RTN)- In Africa, whenever birthing of a female child happens in society, it is deemed and conventionally believed that at any point in time she will grow up, get married and turn out to be an expansive pillar that shall lead to the advancement of this incomparable, cherished and well heeled mainland.
This eventuated as a result of the inception of religious education to the traditionally and dubious beliefs that existed within communities in this precious continent.
However, during the ancient times, before the looming of religious education that gave light to the African way of life, a woman was never formidable.
She was reckoned to be luckless, a sign of impoverishment and heartache to the clan and community at large. In most cases, right at birth, if a female child was given birth to, she could be buried alive in fear of the evil incidents that could happen to the family.
By chance if a girl child circumvented death at an early age, then melancholy at her side could have entered a widely opened hatch.
She was never allowed in the public to an extent, while at her parents home, in case they happen to get day trippers, she was at times heaved and locked in the kitchen, this was due to fear of being giggled at as a family for giving shelter to such an evil spirit.
She was taken as inferior in whatever aspect as far as life is concerned, with no say in community and her voice was never heard, to an extent, she was elevated to the worst rank of being taken as a slave.
Surely life was horrible for a girl child during the olden times, she was distanced from eating the very best meals prepared by her own hands using her own recipe. For example a woman was never allowed to eat chicken, beef and eggs, this was meant to be food for the male.
She could never at any point in life attempt to taste such dishes due to the cultural beliefs as such were regarded as a taboo to women, threatening that could she ever sneak a spoon in her mouth, she could face death right away.
Consent was never a requirement from an African woman, whenever a man looked at any woman around and she entices him, it was his right to grab and touch her the way he liked in order to fulfill his desires.
Such unpleasant acts were being done out of ignorance and absence of critical thinking among the leaders during that time, without visualizing how one could get the ball rolling without the existence of the most priceless human ever created by God “woman”
Fortunately, due to the religious emergence in Africa, a woman gained status in society. These preached about the goodness of a female child, absence of which, none would have attained the gift of living.
Up to date, a woman is ranked the most respected creature in religion due to the unmentionable she goes through such that you and I experience and enjoy a happy life.
